2010 Church Council Meeting Minutes
September 28, 2010
The regular monthly meeting of the Bethany Lutheran Church Council was held on Tuesday, September 28, 2010, and called to order at 7:28 p.m., in Room 210 with President Andy Gift presiding. Members present included Derek Birznieks, Heather Kekstadt, Kevin McAuliffe, Terry Pickett, Pastor Ron Glusenkamp, Becky Godec, Michelle Stone Kraus, Ron Guse, Joel Halvorson, Don Abram. Maren Diercks, Pastor Ruth Ann Loughry, Brenda Greenwald, Dan George, Del Hock, and Peggy Furgason. Bill King was excused. At 7:04 pm. Dan George opened the meeting with a Walk With Jesus devotion.

Motions:
Motion A – Dan George moved and Kevin McAuliffe seconded to approve the August Minutes. It was approved unanimously.
Motion B –.Del Hock moved and Ron Guse seconded to approve the audit report results. It was approved unanimously.
Motion C – Don Abram moved and Peggy Furgason seconded to approve the 2010 housing allowance of maximum of $24,000 for Pastor Paul Gilbertson. It was approved unanimously.
Motion D – Don Abram moved and Terry Pickett seconded to approve continuing education funds of $900 from the general fund for Kevin Dragseth. It was approved unanimously.
Motion E – Ron Guse moved and Terry Pickett seconded to approve Sprint agreement. It was approved unanimously.
Recommendations:
- Make Founders Campaign payment numbers a priority to look at in anticipation of future prepayments.
- We have a responsibility to stabilize the situation with the debt and continue to pay down before taking on any more projects.
Action Items:
- Andy will sign new Sprint agreement tonight.
- Ron Guse and Don Abram will present at New Member class in October. Michelle Stone Kraus will present at the class in January.
The meeting adjourned with prayer by Pastor Ron Glusenkamp at 8:40 p.m.
