Mark Your Calendars!

All of the 2010 events are listed below.  We hope we’ve chosen some dates and events that work for you!   We’ve also labeled each of the events “Fellowship”, “Service” or “Worship” to help you get a feel for the Bethany Family Ministry’s approach to faith formation and help you make a plan for your family.  Looking forward to a great 2010.

The Lover’s Delight Lasagna Dinner
Sunday, February 21st   Fellowship Hall   Doors open at 5:00, dinner at 5:45
This is the first fundraiser for Bethany’s youth mission trips.  This night includes dinner served by the youth, as well as a talent show.  Tickets are $10 adults/$5 for kids 2 and up.  This is a really fun family event and gives our younger ones a chance to see Bethany’s teens having a great time as they prepare for mission trips.   Tickets can be purchased at church on Sundays beginning January 31.  Email lisachrisitian99@gmail.com if you are coming.  Joni will reserve some tables so we can all be together.

Service
Random Acts of Kindness
Sunday, March 14   10:30-11:15 (after Sunday School)
Lots of folks wanted to attend this event last year but had too many conflicts on Saturday mornings so we’ll give it another run.  After Sunday School we will gather to briefly talk about the importance of service.  Next, each family will decide who should be the recipient of their “random act of kindness”.  Finally we will assemble a casserole, ready to deliver as you head home from church.  Each family will be asked to contribute a part of the fully cooked ingredients needed to complete the meals.   RSVP to Lisa Christian at lisachristian99@gmail.com or 303 718-6929.
Fellowship and Fun
Family Movie Night at Bethany
Saturday, April 17     5:00 – 7:00
Tired of being stuck in your house this winter?  Bring your family to church for a casual movie night.  We’ll have some pizza and then watch a family-friendly flick in the big youth room downstairs.  Feel free to bring pillows, blankets and PJ’s.   We will have the nursery available for the little ones.  RSVP to Kirstin Smith at kirstinlsmith@gmail.com or call (303) 807-7171.
Adult Education
Passing on the Faith (renamed Vibrant Faith Congregational Training)
April 23 and 24 – Save the Date
This is the conference held in 2008 that created a major buzz at church, brought about the Faith Formation program (including the Family Ministry) and spurred the incredible changes we’ve seen at Bethany over the last 2 years. The information provided at this conference was not only game-changing at church, but also in our homes. If it’s anything like the last conference, you do not want to miss this.
Fellowship and Fun/Worship
Family Camp at Rainbow Trail
April 30 – May 2
Family-oriented worship, smores, archery, hikes, great food, kickball, adult time, family faith-building time, new friendships and a greater sense of connection to the Bethany community…It’s not hard to understand why so many families make Rainbow Trail an annual family tradition. Watch for registration forms in early February.
Fallowship and Fun
Bethany Family Picnic
Sunday, June 7th 12:00pm – 3:00
This year we are heading to BIG park to hold our BIG family picnic. We’ll gather at the gorgeous Silo Park in Greenwood Village, which has a large shelter, restrooms with running water, playground, playing fields and nearby trails. Look for RSVP info in March.
Fellowship and Fun
Family Camping at Rocky Mountain National Park
July 10-12 RSVP’s needed by January 31st.
Fellowship and Fun
Bethany Family Camping Trip at Rocky Mountain National Park, July 9-11
This year we are heading up to the beautiful Glacier Basin Campground in RMNP.  Each campsite is $20 per night and can hold 2 tents or 1 camper.  There is also a $20 entrance fee into the park, which is good for the week.  If that kind of camping isn’t your thing, there is a nearby YMCA camp that rents cabins and rooms, as well as many nearby B&B’s and hotels in Estes Park.   Email or call Cindy Stef by January 31st to reserve your spot.  cstef2@hotmail.com 303-669-5350.

Fellowship and Fun
Casa Bonita
Saturday, August 14th, 5:00 pm
Due to a high number of requests from kids (and believe it or not their parents!) we are going to brave North America’s largest restaurant. Cliff Divers, Bands, Magicians, Skits, caves for kids to explore and food that by all accounts is best described as “marginal Mexican”…sounds like a family friendly night out. We’ll gather RSVP’s in early August.
Save the Date:
September 25 – Appetizers and Cocktails: Adult Night at Matt and Lisa Christian’s house.
October 10 – Family Fun Night at Church
November 13 – Family Faith Night
December 11 – Christmas Service Project
