Overview

The purpose of the 1G Network is to assist one another in professional pursuits such as business development, improving organizational competencies and job search; in a collective, healthy, and inspiring environment.

Our hope is that by helping one another align toward achieving our professional goals, we each will contribute in a more positive way to our families, our communities, and back to the individuals and networks that have helped us along the way.

We discuss a topic pertinent to each of us in the workforce no matter the industry or role we’re in. Everyone has something to learn, and something to contribute. Featured topics may include:
• Establishing efficient operations
• Utilizing social networking
• Asking for help through prayer
• Recognizing your purpose
• Recruiting talent
• Work/Life integration
• Finding a mentor & being a mentor
• Tactics for keeping your pipeline full

Some sessions are collaborative workshops, others feature guest speakers and presentations. There’s no doubt that you’ll soak in a lot of helpful information in these monthly sessions, but you won’t get away with just being a bystander. A “network” is only as successful as its contributors. We want to get to know who you are and what we can learn from you as well. You may even be asked to lead a monthly discussion regarding your subject matter focus.

Each session is just 1 hour and 15 minutes long. Every 2nd Wednesday of each month we get started promptly at 7am and end promptly at 8:15am. Just show up and introduce yourself. We’re affiliated with Bethany Lutheran Church, however non-members of the church are very welcome and encouraged to join us (no admission fee required). The meetings do have structure to ensure the value of each session. But at the same time, this is a creative environment that fosters openness and contribution. We welcome ongoing feedback and suggestions for improving the effectiveness of the sessions.

Whether you’re a member of Bethany or not. Whether you’re employed, unemployed or under-employed and looking for the ideal work. Or whether you’re a manager, an entrepreneur or an executive looking for help solving an issue or a sounding board to brainstorm with… The 1G Network can help you and you can help the 1G Network.

The 1G Network is a network of action. A network of motivation and idea generation. A network of individual pursuits fueled by the collaboration of peers that care. You’ll learn from and personally get to know fellow members with professional pursuits similar to yours.

“For surely I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, plans for your welfare and not for harm, to give you a future with hope.”  Jeremiah 29:11

Speaker:  Nancy Franz, Transitions Career CoachingNancy Franz - Transitions Career Coaching
Nancy lead her presentation with an interactive roundtable of what “God’s grace” means to you and how God’s grace shows itself in your daily work. The consistent powerful messages of “quieting the noise” and “getting uncomfortable to create change” appeared once again in Nancy’s presentation! Nancy also shared her five keys to a satisfying career…
1) Ownership — Are you fully engaged? Are you able to follow your fire of curiosity?
2) Matters — Do you feel that what you do matters, and is connected to something bigger?
3) Rewarding — Is what you do rewarding for you (i.e. financially rewarding, etc.)?
4) Learning — Are you able to continue growing as a person? Are you stimulated?
5) Relied Upon — Do others count on you? Are you the expert others turn to for answers?

Transitions Career CoachingNancy has been a Career Coach for the past 12 years working with hundreds of clients who have successfully found their life’s work.   Nancy is a life long learner with a love and focus on human development, behavior, and the human spirit.
